12 More Cheetahs Fly 7,900 Km To Kuno In MP

This takes the strength of cheetahs at Kuno to 20 as PM released 8 wild cats which were flown from Namibia.

BHOPAL, Feb 19 (The CONNECT) - Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bhupender Yadav has released Twelve cheetahs brought from South Africa at Kuno National Park (KNP), Sheopur, Madhya Pradesh.

PM Narendra Modi has earlier released eight Cheetahs into KNP brought from Namibia.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar were also present at the event yesterday.

Earlier, after covering a distance of more than 7,900 kilometers from Johannesburg in South Africa, these 12 cheetahs reached Kuno National Park via Gwalior.

In a series of tweets Yadav said Project Cheetah, launched under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji’s leadership, reached another milestone today in Kuno National Park with the release of 12 cheetahs
